The Barcelona Institute for Global Health in Spain has greatly contributed to the translation of health research into public health policy, especially in the fields of NTDs, such as Chagas and yaws disease, malaria, SCH, and STH infections. Furthermore, it is considered one of the leading think tanks in the global health category, according to the “Global Go to Think Tank” index. Regarding Global Health EDCTP3 JU funding, ISGlobal has a successful history of collaboration with EDCTP and has received several grants, including as a coordinator. ISGlobal has successfully coordinated epidemiological studies and clinical trials, including Phase II/III clinical trials for the registration of FDC with the EMA. ISGlobal will therefore provide its experience in pharmacokinetics and pharmacovigilance to support majorly WP1 and also in part 2. In addition, ISGlobal will lead WP4 for which the leader has 20 years of expertise in the health economics and modelling of NTDs. Recently, she has participated in FreeBILy consortium (https://freebily.eu/), a large study testing the impact on pregnant women of new rapid tests for SCH. ISGlobal will also be involved in capacity building (WP5), and in part in WP6, WP7 and WP8. ISGLOBAL has one Affiliated Entity: Hospital Clínic de Barcelona (HCB, CB), PIC number 905096816, which will be involved in WP1. HCB has a legal link to the beneficiary implying collaboration that is not limited to the action. HCPB is a university tertiary hospital located in Barcelona and member of the Board of Trustees of ISGlobal. Founded in 1906, it belongs to the Catalan Public Hospital Network (XHUP). Through the practice of all medical and surgical areas of specialization, the hospital is active in the spheres of healthcare, Research and teaching, both directly and through associated companies. As the main public healthcare provider in its area of influence in the city of Barcelona, the hospital acts as a community hospital serving a population of 540,000 inhabitants, while at the same time operating as a tertiary care facility for highly complex cases. Hospital Clinic Barcelona is a national reference center for tropical diseases, and has over 40 years of history in the diagnosis and management of tropical diseases in the context of international health. The International Health Department (created in 2006) is the unique department fully focused on international health in Spain and works very closely with ISGlobal since its creation.
